Work Accident – Trip and Fall

Employee was entering her employer’s premises through a rear door entrance when she was caused to trip and fall on the metal threshold. As she was falling, Employee reached out with her left non-dominant arm in an attempt to break her fall. Employee sustained significant injuries to her left shoulder and left wrist including left brachial plexus injury, left shoulder dislocation and left wrist closed traumatic subluxation of the distal radioulnar joint. The workers’ compensation claim settled for $125,000 with liability accepted for future medical treatment.
