Employee was working as a laborer for a roofing contractor when he was caused to fall from a roof. Employee was wearing a safety harness and safety line. The safety line anchor point failed. Employee fell to the ground and sustained multiple injuries including closed head injury, fractured jaw, fractured right humerus, right radial nerve injury and right shoulder injury. Employee was hospitalized and underwent surgery to wire his jaw shut to treat the fractured jaw. His right arm fracture was treated non-surgically. The workers comp claim settled for $120,000 with liability accepted for future medical treatment.
