Can I Receive Social Security Disability and Workers Compensation?

Yes, but Social Security will reduce your monthly SSDI benefit based on the amount of money you are receiving in workers comp.  Once you settle your workers comp case, the SSDI offset can be reduced or eliminated by including language in the workers comp settlement agreement that the workers comp settlement is meant to compensate you over the course of your future life expectancy.  This is commonly referred to as a Sciarotta allocation.
